Subsidence Handbook Volume III, Exhibit 15
• as the rockfall is noted. If a road affected by a rockfall is impassible due to inclement
weather, rockfall removal will be delayed. However, this delay is inconsequential because
the road will not be used by the Operator or the public due to inclement weather.
Persons using trails will be notified of any hazards. Those persons are typically the
Operator's employees, hunters or monitoring personnel.
The Operator will post signs on roads and trails that lead into and over areas where
secondary mining has or will occur within the next six months. The signs will be posted
along any roads where rock rollout is predicted. The signs will be maintained for at least
two years after mining The signs will display the following or similar warning.
WARNING
ENTERING AN AREA
THAT HAS BEEN MINED UNDER
WATCH OUT FOR FALLING ROCKS
ROAD MAY BE CRACKED OR DISPLACED
TRAVEL WITH CAUTION
• The Operator will work in conjunction with the USDA-FS to close the Hubbard Creek trail
from time to time to protect the public from rockfall hazard. The Hubbard Creek trail will be closed
to the public during periods of high rockfall risk for four weeks. The trail will be closed by
agate with a warning sign.
