• Waterfowl, raptors, upland_gamebirds and passerine birds occur on the
Seneca II site, thus four different surveys were necessary to determine the
presence, aburuti-uzoe and production of avifauna at the project site.
1. Strip transact censuses for passerine birds and upland game birds.
2. (~ovrrl surveys to determine the presence and status of raptor nests.
3. Surveys of wet areas to determine presence and abundance of waterfowl
arxi shorebirds.
4. Waterfowl and uplarxi game burl brood production surveys.
In addition to the above-listed specific census tecYmiques, opportunistic
sightings of raptorial birds, game birds, and waterfowl were recorded by
species, habitat type, and location on wildlife observation forms during all
field activities.
