•
SRT139.16
Form: The specimen is a medial section of
a biface exhibiting both proximal
and distal snap fractures. Cross-
section is biconvex produced by "
irregular pressure flaking.
Plan view of the artifact shows
a truncated triangular slope.
Material: White chert.
Dimensions:
Retouch:
Functional
Interpretation:
L J
SRT139.28
1.70 cm long x 2.66 cm wide x .53 cm thick.
Retouch is prevalent unifacially and
bilaterally.
Lateral edges exhibit bifacial step
fracturing though they are now prevalent
on the retouched surfaces. Margins are
slightly rounded. Wear appears assoc-
iated with cutting.
Form: The specimen is an irregularly shaped
tertiary flake exhibiting an irregular
cross-section. The platform appears
prepared while the distal end is absent
due to a snap fracture. Cultural altera-
tion is both unifacial and unilateral.
Material:
Dimensions:
Retouch:
Functional
• Interpretation
White chalcedony with dendritic inclusions.
3.81 cm. long x 3.20 cm. wide x .71 cm. thick
Flake is a result of percussion flaking.
Edge mofiication is a series of .scalar
scars.
Wear occurs on the dorsal face of one
lateral margin. This is characteristic
of scraping activity.
39
