YOAST MINE <br />• 2010 ANNUAL RECLAMATION REPORT <br />2010 DISTURBANCE AREA <br />There were no additional acres disturbed during 2010. The total disturbed area remains 848.6 acres. <br />BACKFILLING AND GRADING <br />There were 18.0 acres of backfilled and graded in 2010 at the Yoast mine. <br />TOPSOIL AND SPOIL MONITORING <br />SCC is required by Permit C-94-082 to monitor the salvage, storage, and redistribution of topsoil and <br />spoil handling operations at Yoast Mine. <br />• Topsoil Recovery Documentation <br />No additional topsoil was salvaged since no new disturbance occurred. <br />• 2010 Topsoil Replacement Thickness <br />There were 21.9 acres of topsoil replacement during 2010. <br />• • Soil Pit - Topsoil Fertility and Spoil Suitability <br />No additional soil pit or spoil samples were collected within the Permanent Program permit area in <br />2010. <br />• Topsoil Balance <br />The topsoil balance is completed to ensure topsoil is salvaged, stockpiled, and replaced as <br />recommended and approved in the permit, and, if necessary, to readjust the topsoil salvage and <br />redistribution thickness. <br />Topsoil Salvage and Storage. The life-of-mine disturbance area from which topsoil was salvaged <br />(848.6 acres) and the topsoil stockpile sites as of December 31, 2010 are shown on the 2010 Topsoil <br />Replacement map. During 2010, there was no additional topsoil salvaged. The stockpile volumes <br />are listed in Table 10.1, Topsoil Stockpile Volumes. As of December 31, 2010, there were 41.2 acre- <br />feet of stockpiled topsoil remaining in the mining area. <br />Topsoil Replacement. There were 21.9 acres of additional topsoil replaced in 2010. <br />Topsoil Replacement Thickness. The topsoil balance as of December 31, 2010 for the remaining <br />life-of-mine is calculated as follows: <br />Mine Area <br />Total disturbance area <br />• Permanent Facilities & Topsoil replaced <br />Disturbance area requiring soil <br />Soil in stockpiles (Table 10.1) <br />Mean replacement depth available <br />= 848.6 acres <br />= 818.5 acres <br />= 30.1 acres <br />= 41.2 acre-feet <br />2.3 feet (28.1 inches) <br />1
