Annual Report - 2010 <br />Henderson Mine and Mill Reclamation Activities <br />Permit No. M-1977-342 <br />Included are the Colorado Division of Reclamation and Mining and Safety (DRMS) Annual <br />112d-3 Report for Climax Molybdenum Company's Henderson Mine and Mill (Permit No. M- <br />77-342), and a check for $633.00. Below is a summary of interim maintenance and reclamation <br />activities conducted during 2010. <br />1.0 Henderson Mine <br />1.1 Disturbance <br />New disturbance at the Mine in 2010 was limited to incremental caving of the glory hole. No <br />changes were made to any of the mine openings (shafts). <br />1.2 Reclamation <br />No reclamation activities were conducted at the Mine in 2010, however routine maintenance of <br />erosion and sediment control structures was carried out. New exhaust fans were installed at the <br />top of the number 5 shaft to reflect changes in ventilation requirements for underground <br />activities. <br />1.3 Other Activities <br />1.3.1- Weed Control. <br />Habitat Management, Inc. performed weed management activities at the Henderson Mine on two <br />occasions in 2010. <br />Targeted herbicide spraying was used to control Canada Thistle, Yellow Toadflax, Mayweed <br />Chamomile and Oxeye Daisy throughout the main mine facilities area, the URAD area, Emmrick <br />and Hill Yard (Explosives contractor), and along County Road 202 between URAD and the <br />Henderson Mine. Other noxious weed species were not found in areas managed this year. <br />A herbicide solution of Plateau, Milestone and Tordon 22K was utilized to control Canada <br />Thistle, Yellow Toadflax, Oxeye Daisy and Mayweed Chamomile throughout all treatment <br />areas. A second solution consisting of Weedestroy and Tordon 22K was applied to Canada <br />Thistle, Yellow Toadflax and Oxeye Daisy in Emmrick and Hill Yard. Krovar IDF, a soil- <br />sterilant, was used in two substation areas and within a five foot zone extending outward from <br />main facilities buildings perimeters <br />1.32 - Groundwater Data <br />Groundwater data for well GW-1 for Henderson Mine is contained in Attachment B. <br />Page 1
