Corey Heaps
McClave Canyon Mining, LLC
February 15, 2011
Rule 2.10 Maps and Plans
Page 23
121. A few of the maps submitted with the PR -2 application did not meet the general requirements
for maps and plans as follows:
• Figures 2.2 -1 Affected and Disturbed Areas and 4.1 -2 Preliminary Alluvial Valley
Floor Identification, are not to scale in regards to Rule 2.10.1(1). Maps showing the
disturbed area should be at a scale of 1:6,000 or larger. Please re- submit these maps to
the scale of 1 " =500'.
• Figure 1.1 -1 and-1.1-3D are not at the required scale of 1:24,000. Please re- submit
these maps with a scale of 1 "= 2000'. Also Figure 1.1 -3D did not have a signed P.E.
Certification.
• Figures 2.2 -1 and 4.1 -1 do not show Township and Range and Figure 1.1 -3A shows
Township but no Range. Figure 4.1 -2 does not show Township, Range, or Section.
Please ensure that all maps and figures are submitted at the proper scale, show Township,
Range, and Section, and are signed and certified by a P.E.
122. 2.10.3(1)(e) requires the location of surface and subsurface manmade features within, passing
through, or passing over the proposed permit area to be shown on a map, while 0) requires a
map of the existing topography... in sufficient detail so as to represent slopes and configuration
of all surface features within the area to be affected. Figure 3.1 -3 Original Topography has not
been updated since September 1985 and appears to represent only the portal area of the canyon.
Please provide a new map satisfying the requirements of 2.10.3(1)(e) and 0) which shows the
Pre - Mining Topography of the entire area proposed for disturbance by Surface Facilities, using
a 2' contour interval on the valley floor.
123. The current version of Figure 2.2 -2 Surface Facilities, approved with MR48, uses a 2' contour
interval for the valley floor area. The same map, revised for PR -2, now depicts the valley floor
using only 10' contours. Please restore the 2' contour interval to the valley floor portions of
Figure 2.2 -2 and add the single /double green line symbol (culvert pipes ?) to the Legend.
124. Figure 3.1 -1 depicts the reclamation plan for the mine. Because of the changes proposed by
PR-2 for construction of the air jig plant in McClane Canyon, please create an additional cross
section oriented perpendicular to the canyon that shows the pre -mine topography, the
topography proposed with PR -2, and the anticipated post - mining topography.
Rule 4.06.3 Topsoil Storage
125. On page 2.05 -2, MCM states, "the topsoil stock pile will be sprayed with Round Up as
necessary to control cheatgrass establishment". Please include the rates of application.
