Mr. Liesveld <br />Page 1 2 <br />February 17, 2011 <br />6.3.3 Exhibit C - Mining Plan <br />1. The Applicant has indicated one percent of the stone that is quarried is waste rock. Please <br />describe what is done with the waste rock. <br />2. The Applicant has stated the thickness of the deposit is one half mile. Please specify the <br />thickness of the deposit to be mined (i.e., how far down will you mine from the current <br />elevation of the quarry floor?). <br />3. Please specify the height of any existing highwalls on the site, as well as the anticipated <br />maximum height of any highwall during the mining operation. <br />4. The Applicant has stated water for the operation is brought in from Estes Park. Please specify <br />the source from which water is obtained. <br />5. The Applicant has stated the operation uses 1,500 gallons of water per day. Is all of the water <br />used to operate the WaterJET? <br />6. As required by Rule 6.3.3(f), please provide a description of how the spill area is utilized. <br />7. As required by Rule 6.3.3(e), please provide a description of each of the quarry rooms, <br />including dimensions. The description should specify which quarry room is actively being <br />mined, as well as how the other quarry rooms are utilized during the mining process. <br />8. The Applicant has stated the access road, from Highway 36 to the quarry, is 0.75 miles in <br />length. Please clarify if the access road is utilized by other adjacent landowners. If it is, then <br />specify the dimensions of the road from the mine office to the quarry. New or improved <br />roads must be included as part of the permitted acreage. <br />6.3.4 Exhibit D - Reclamation Plan <br />9. The Applicant has stated the maximum gradient of the reclaimed slopes will be five percent. <br />Please clarify if this refers to the slopes of the quarry floor. <br />10. Please clarify if there will be any highwalls remaining after reclamation is complete. If so, <br />specify the dimensions of the highwall(s). <br />11. The proposed post-mining land use for the site is residential. Please indicate if the site is <br />currently zoned for residential use and if it is, provide a Larimer County Zoning Map which <br />shows the zoning for the proposed site. In addition, please describe how the site, including <br />the quarry rooms, will be developed to a residential use.
