This letter is in
response to a letter dated 1/26/11 that I received from Wallace Erickson at the DRMS
office in Durango, Co. Wally has alleged that I was not telling the truth about Wildcat
Mining Corporations application being available to me on the 19th of January, 2011 at the
La Plata County Clerks office.
I can assure you I was there and the only Wildcat application made available to me
were the old 110 permits. I called Wally that day and asked for his assistance in locating
and identifying the 112 permit applications and I'm sorry to say Wally was not much
help. He asked me to send a letter, which I did. I did not hear anything for a week
despite leaving a couple of phone messages. I again, called three other times and didn't
leave messages because it seemed to me Wally was not going to answer and that I was
wasting my time leaving messages. i finally called you on the 20h of January and that
afternoon received a call from Wally that basically called me "confused" and the
application was there. He did not provide any details or helpful information for me to
understand why it was not there on the 19t'
From a citizen's perspective, I find Wally's response to my need for access to the
application to be indicative of the way this application has been processed.
To begin with, why did it take Wally a week to check on the application? It would
have taken Wally less than 10 minutes to drive down there and verify compliance.
Instead I assume Wally followed DRMS guidelines, and allowed a week to pass before
