Compliance With Mine Plan NA - Support Facilities Not On-site <br />NA - Other NA - Special Categories Of Mining <br />R - Processing Waste R - Topsoil <br />COMMENTS <br />AIR RESOURCE PROTECTION - Rule 4.17: <br />There was very little coal that had been stockpiled on either the D-seam portal bench or on the main coal <br />stockpile bench. There were no signs of fugitive dust going offsite or coal fines being tracked onto the highway. A <br />fully loaded unit train was parked at the unit train loadout but no signs of fugitive dust were observed. Most of the <br />disturbed area was covered in snow so there were no dust problems from those areas either. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS - Rule 5.02.4(1): <br />All of the required mine records were located at the Bowie No. 2 Mine office, as documented on the <br />attached records checklist. <br />EXPLOSIVES - Rule 4.08 'Distance Prohibitions 4.08.4; Warnings 4.08.4; Control of Adverse Effects 4.08.4: <br />There were no problems with the cap and powder houses. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05: C; Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, <br />4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water <br />Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage - Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; <br />Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />None of the sediment ponds were discharging at the time of the inspection. Pond B was snow covered. <br />The ice and snow covered water level in the pond was below the primary discharge level. Although covered in <br />snow, there were no signs of slope instability with the pond embankment. The float assembly was on the primary <br />discharge pipe and the emergency spillway was clear of debris. Ponds C and D were also snow covered. The float <br />was on the pond C primary discharge pipe. The ice covered water level in pond C was below the primary <br />discharge pipe while it appeared that only snow was in pond D. Both ponds' emergency spillways were clear of <br />any blockage. Pond F had a little snow and ice covered water in it. The pump was in place at the pond. Both pond <br />J and pond K were snow covered. Neither pond appeared to have any water in it.
