COMMENTS
AIR RESOURCE PROTECTION—Rule 4.17:
There were no problems with fugitive dust at the unit train loadout and at the partially reclaimed
temporary highway coal stockpile area. The remaining mine sites were completely covered in snow so dust
problems were not present.
AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS—Rule 5.02.4(1):
The required mine records were located at the Bowie No. 2 Mine office, as documented on the attached
records checklist.

The backfilled slopes at the West Mine and at the reclaimed run-of-mine coal stockpile area were covered
in snow but they appeared to be stable.The East Mine backfilled slopes could not be inspected since access to the
site was blocked by snow at the entrance gate.

There was a little snow in the sediment pond at the unit train loadout.The bin walls that serve as the
pond's embankment appeared to be stable.There was no debris in the emergency spillway and the primary
discharge gate was closed.There was a little ice in the sediment pond at the partially reclaimed temporary
highway coal stockpile area. The two sediment ponds at the West Mine and the sediment pond at the reclaimed
run-of-mine coal stockpile area were completely covered in snow. Although covered in snow,the embankments of
the ponds appeared to be stable.The sediment ponds at the East Mine were not inspected due to snow blocking the
