PERMIT #: M-1990-114
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: RCO
INSPECTION DATE: January 26, 2011
Signs and Markers:
There are new permit ID and safety signs posted at the entrance. The permit boundary is the perimeter
fenceline. All activities are contained within the boundary.
Storm Water Management Plan:
All onsite activities occur down in the pits, and all stormwater is managed so that it reports to the pits.
Topsoil:
A sufficient amount of topsoil is stripped ahead of mining and is protected in stockpiles until it can be used for
reclamation. Many of the topsoil piles are along the road and pit margins, allowing for easy replacement.
Topsoil that was previously stripped in the irregularly-shaped north pit area is now recognized to need moving
again, so it is being pushed farther to the north boundary so the pit may expand. The operator is reminded
that the new stockpiles of topsoil should be seeded to protect them from erosion and weeds. There may be
areas that are ready for final reclamation where topsoil can be respread directly from the stripped areas.
The site is operated and maintained in a clean and orderly manner. There were no problems noted during this
inspection.
