Mr. Morrison
Page 1 3
February 2, 2011
10. Please describe the major components of the mining operation as required by Rule 6.3.3(d).
Specifically, describe the pit and specify the grade the pit walls will be mined at.
6.3.4 Exhibit D - Reclamation Plan
11. The Mining Plan states the maximum size area that will be mined at one time would be from
5 to 6 acres. Please clarify if the Operator will reclaim the site concurrently with mining or if
all reclamation will be performed at the completion of mining.
12. The Reclamation Plan Map depicts the haul road in its proposed location. Please specify if
the haul road will remain upon the completion of mining. If the haul road will remain upon
the completion of mining, then the Operator shall provide a signed statement from the
landowner demonstrating their approval of leaving the haul road in place.
6.3.5 Exhibit E - Map
13. The Mining Plan Map and the Reclamation Plan Map do not depict the haul road in its
entirety. The haul road is part of the affected area and must be included in both maps. Please
revise the Mining Plan and Reclamation Plan Maps to include the haul road or submit
separate maps depicting the haul road route.
14. As required by Rule 6.3.5(2)(b), please label the names of owner(s) of record of the surface
of the affected area, identify the owner of the substance to be mined, and the type of structure
and owners of record of any permanent man-made structures within 200 feet of the affected
area.
15. As required by Rule 6.3.5(2)(f), please outline and label existing disturbance within and/or
adjacent to the permit boundary(e.g., previously mined areas, roads or excavations resulting
from utility construction). Re-disturbance of previously disturbed areas, by the proposed
mining operation, must be included in the permit area and addressed in Exhibit D -
Reclamation Plan.
-16. As required by Rule 6.3.5(3)(a), the Reclamation Plan Map must show the gradient of all
reclaimed slopes (horizontal:vertical) sufficient to describe the post mine topography. Please
revise the Reclamation Plan Map accordingly.
17. As required by Rule 6.3.5(3)(d), the Reclamation Plan Map must state the average thickness
of replaced overburden by reclamation area or phase. Please revise the Reclamation Plan
Map accordingly.
18. As required by Rule 6.3.5(3)(e), the Reclamation Plan Map must state the average thickness
of replaced topsoil by reclamation area or phase. Please revise the Reclamation Plan Map
accordingly.
