Below is a listing of each
of your comments followed by our response to each comment.
Exhibit D: Mining Plan
1. The mining plan shall include construction details for the proposed main entrance road. This
shall include dimensions of the proposed road and describe any associated drainage and runoff
conveyance structures to be used in construction of the road.
Attached are construction plan documents for the main entrance road. They have been labeled
Attachment C:-1 to go with the Exhibit C Mining Plan map. In addition, we updated Exhibit D to
provide dimensions and a description of drainage and conveyance structures that will be used to
construct the road.
Exhibit F: Reclamation Plan Map
Exhibit D Mining Plan states that topsoil is approximately 6-12 inches deep over the site, and
Exhibit E Reclamation Plan states that topsoil will be replaced over the disturbed areas at a
depth of 6 inches, while Exhibit F Reclamation Plan Map shows topsoil being replaced at
approximately 12-18 inches in depth. Please clarify.
As stated in Exhibit D, topsoil is approximately 6-12 inches deep over the site. When Lafarge
reclaims the site, the topsoil will be replaced over the disturbed areas at a depth of at least 6
inches. Therefore, Exhibit F has been amended to also indicate that the topsoil will be replaced
so that it is at least 6 inches deep.
In addition, the seed mix listed on Exhibit F has been updated to reflect changes recommended
by Dennis Davidson who works for the Mount Sopris Conservation District.
Exhibit S: Permanent Man-Made Structures
3. Supply a notarized letter, on utility letterhead, from the owner(s) of the utility that mining and
reclamation activities, as proposed, will have "no negative effect" on their utility for the
following structures:
a.
