January 20, 2011 C-1981-010/Trapper Mine RDZ <br />GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLANCE: <br />At the K Dip Pit, the Le Tourneau loader was loading 240-ton Komatsu trucks with spoil to be hauled to K Ridge. <br />At the F Pit, the Baby Doe dragline was moving spoil near the south end of the pit. Coal was being excavated and <br />loaded into trucks. The Queen Anne dragline was not in operation at the time of the inspection. <br />At D Pit and the ash pit, no activity was observed. <br />The mine was found to be in general compliance with the permit. <br />ROADS - Rule 4.03: <br />Many roads were observed during the inspection, including the Life-of-Mine Road, the Middle Z Road, the Z3 <br />Road, the Mid Ash Road, and the D Pit Road. Most of the roadside ditches contained several inches of snow, but <br />the roads were stable and were functioning as permitted at the time of the inspection. At the Ash Pit, south <br />(above) the Mid Ash Road, the road was very muddy; however, this road is not considered a haul road. <br />RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3: <br />Due to snow conditions, the ground was not visible at some locations during the inspection. On the areas that <br />were visible, no problems such as gullies on reclaimed areas were observed. <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04: <br />No problems were observed at the East Panel Ready Line or at the shop. <br />SIGNS AND MARKERS - Rule 4.02: <br />The mine ID and blasting signs at the main mine entrance and at the entrance near the power plant were found to <br />be in compliance. <br />TOPSOIL - Rule 4.06: <br />No topsoil removal or stockpiling activities were observed during the inspection. <br />DOCUMENTS RECEIVED <br />Graham Roberts provided updates of pages 2-462c through 2-462e. <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 5 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2 <br />Page 3 of 5
