The purpose of the inspection was to evaluate the on-the-ground
condition with respect to Trapper Mine's mining and environmental protection activities. Graham Roberts of TMI
accompanied the inspection in the field.
The weather was cold and clear. The ground was covered with snow at all areas except active roads and active
mining areas.
AIR RESOURCE PROTECTION - Rule 4.17:
Roads and other activities were not a source of fugitive dust during the inspection.
EXCESS SPOIL and DEVELOPMENT WASTE - Rule 4.09:
At the K Ridge, the Molly Brown dragline was moving spoil, and a truck was dumping a load of spoil. The K
Ridge and Horse Gulch Fill were found to be in compliance with the permit.
EXPLOSIVES - Rule 4.08:
A parting shot was observed in Z Dip Pit. No problems were observed and the following appeared to be in
compliance:
Signs - a sign was in place at the blast site.
Traffic control - all roads into the area were blocked prior to the blast.
Warning signals - all signals were sounded, including signals at 5 minutes, 3 minutes, 2 minutes, and 30 seconds
before the blast. The all-clear signal was not heard, but an announcement on the radio was heard, and George
Connelly, TMI blaster, informed Graham Roberts and Rob Zuber that the signal had been sounded.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 5
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2
Page 2 of 5
