The proposed mining operations will be using the roads described for transportation access for labor, equipment, and
waste rock hauling. The daily anticipated use is as follows.
• Labor transportation, upto 2 passenger vehicles twice daily.
• Equipment transportation, 3 cu. yd. rubber tired front-end loader (very limited).
• Waste rock hauling, upto 10 round trip loads with a tandem dump truck daily, during daylight hours. Haul
traffic will be to the south via Virginia Canyon Rd. then via Two Brothers Rd. in Clear Creek County to the
mineral processing millsite. It will take approximately 100 loads to completely remove this dump.
At NO time shall t)ublic roads be used to store or park equipment.
These usage rates are entirely consistent with current and historic use. Road damage from this traffic is unlikely.
We must point out that this area's road network is being used in this fashion already with the State's "Church
Placer" repository to the northeast of this proposed operation. Additionally on an "as-needed" basis, a water truck
will be employed to sprinkle the roads for dust abatement measures.
Occasionally, perhaps twice annually depending on conditions, the operations will employ a front-end loader/grader
to maintain the historic mine access road. Ibis could only be seen as a drastic improvement over the currently
existing condition of the road. Having a maintained road in this remote region should be seen by residents of the
County as an asset for future wildland firefighting. Gilpin County Road and Bridge publishes maintenance
standards and issuers maintenance permits.
This evaluation has been prepared by Ryan J. McHale, PE dated January 17, 2011.
42189
1-f 7 ?l
