In each shovel test, the upper 5 cm consisted of fine- grained silty sand and gravel. A sandy clay layer was noted between 5 and 25 cm below ground surface. Consolidated clay was noted below 25 cm below ground surface. No subsurface cultural deposits were identified. NRHP Eligibility Recommendation and Project Effect Site 5MF6088 is recommended as needing more data to adequately assess the site's NRHP eligibility under Criterion D. Although the site consists of a diverse assemblage of flaked stone artifacts, including a probable Paleoindian projectile point fragment, no dateable cultural features were identified. The limited testing results were inconclusive in determining the site's potential to contain intact significant subsurface cultural deposits. The site occurs within the mine permit boundary, but it is outside the area proposed for disturbance. If the site is proposed for disturbance at a later date, evaluative testing should be conducted sufficient to determine the site's NRHP eligibility. Following this stipulation, cultural resource clearance is recommended. 6.1.32 Site 5MF6090 (jWP -S -1) Site Tyne Lithic scatter Legal Location Section 19, T4N, R93W Landowner BLM Site Dimensions 58 x 34 m Site Description Site 5MF6090 is a diffuse lithic scatter located on a wide, gently sloping, northeast- trending bench at 7,160 ft (2,182 m) (Figure 6.72). The bench forms part of the north end of a broad northeast - trending ridgeline that overlooks a broad drainage basin to the north. The site is located approximately midway between the mouths of Collom Gulch to the west and Jubb Creek to the east (Figure 6.73). On -site sediment consists of eroding sandstone regolith.
