The shovel tests <br />were excavated in locations that appeared to have potential for sediment depth. Shovel Test I was <br />placed approximately in the center of the site, and Shovel Test 2 was placed along the northern edge <br />of the site. The sediment noted in both shovel tests consisted of sandy silt with sandstone gravel and <br />bedrock detritus to a depth of 18 cm below ground surface that was underlain with decomposing <br />sandstone bedrock. <br />NRHP Eligibility Recommendation and Project Effect Site 5MF6087 is recommended as not <br />eligible for listing on the NRHP when evaluated under Criterion D. The site is a surface <br />manifestation that consists of a limited density and diversity of artifacts with no dateable cultural <br />features or temporally diagnostic artifacts. The results of testing suggest that the site has little or no <br />potential to contain intact significant subsurface cultural deposits. <br />47599 <br />TRC Mariah Associates Inc. <br />
