I 1
U
100 Class III Inventory, Calowyo's Collom Mine Project
i o Figure 6.46 Overview of Site 5MF6079, Looking Southeast (Taken by Dave Byers, 8/13/05).
19 cm below ground surface. In Shovel Test 1, the surface veneer was underlain with clay residuum.
In Shovel Test 2, the surface veneer was underlain with decomposing sandstone bedrock.
NRHP Elizibility Recommendation and Project Effect Site 5MF6079 is recommended as not
eligible for listing on the NRHP when evaluated under Criterion D. The site is a surface
manifestation that contains no dateable cultural features or temporally diagnostic artifacts and has
been impacted by slopewash. The site consists of a diffuse artifact scatter with a limited density and
diversity of artifacts. Test excavations strongly suggest that the site has no potential to contain intact
significantsubsurfacecultura l deposits. Recordation has exhausted the researchpotential ofthe site.
The site occurs within the mine permit boundary, but it is not eligible for the NRHP and there will
be no project effect. Cultural resource clearance is recommended, with no further work.
•
47599 TRC Mariah Associates Inc.
