• <br />DRILL SITE <br />(17) Mud pits must be properly constructed and marked. Pits that do not lend themselves to easy <br />exit by foot must include durable perimeter fencing. <br />(18) A full body harness with lanyard must be used if mast maintenance or repair is required (over <br />6 foot from ground level). This equipment is available from the minesite <br />(19) Drilling operations should cease and cover found upon the approach or eminent danger of <br />lightening storms. <br />(20) Time should be provided to assure that drilling fluids are properly diverted into the pits and <br />that the work area around the rig is clear and reasonably dry. <br />(21) House keeping is essential in avoiding tripping hazards. Shovels, wrenches, pipe, etc. should <br />be properly located. Rocks should be removed from working areas especially along well <br />traveled areas (i.e., pipe rack, area in back of rig) <br />(22) Drilling chemicals should be properly sealed and stored.
