Pits that do not lend themselves to easy
exit by foot must include durable perimeter fencing.
(18) A full body harness with lanyard must be used if mast maintenance or repair is required (over
6 foot from ground level). This equipment is available from the minesite
(19) Drilling operations should cease and cover found upon the approach or eminent danger of
lightening storms.
(20) Time should be provided to assure that drilling fluids are properly diverted into the pits and
that the work area around the rig is clear and reasonably dry.
(21) House keeping is essential in avoiding tripping hazards. Shovels, wrenches, pipe, etc. should
be properly located. Rocks should be removed from working areas especially along well
traveled areas (i.e., pipe rack, area in back of rig)
(22) Drilling chemicals should be properly sealed and stored. Any new chemicals, not previously
recorded at the beginning of the program with Colowyo, needs an accompanying chemical
data sheet.
(23) Proper lifting methods should be utilized to avoid back related injuries (i.e., core boxes, pipe,
bits, subs, casing, drilling additives, etc.)
(24) Aside from required safety equipment, hearing protection should be utilized.
(25) Be aware at the site and keep good communication amongst site personnel.
•
0
N: \PROJECTS\ACTIVE PROJECTSU 158520037 RioTinto CollomPertmit \Draft Permit Text Tables MapPDFs \Exhibits \Exhibit 6 Item 7 - Geology Pre -
Feasibility Report \Appendices\Appendix F - Protocols \SUPPLEMENTAL SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS- Revised.doc Page 2 of 2
1/16/2009
