•
Data Handling
For each drill hole, all forms listed below must be completed on a timely manner
and originals placed in fireproof file 4 drawer C at the Lower Administration
building. A separate file system containing this data in copy form will be
established and maintained on the main floor. Geologists need to copy newly
acquired lithology /geotechnical logs at the end of each drilling period. These
photocopies will provide a backup for the originals and allow Dwight Kinnes to
organize data entry on a running basis. The following forms and data need to be
compiled by each field geologist for each drill hole:
• Drill Hole Information Form
• Lithological /Geotechnicallogs
• Coal Core Instruction Form
• Piezometers and /or well completion diagrams
• Geophysical logs and electronic copies
• CD Rom of core images
• Drillers Daily Report copies
• Completion records
• • Hydrological & Geotechnical forms & data related to each drill hole
It is up to the geologist, assigned to the hole, to arrange data generated from the
hydrologists and geotechnical engineers to be placed into the files.
Other forms that need to be prepared or utilized include the following:
Project Team Member Report
Work Permit (Signed by Project Manager)
Safety Observation Form (As appropriate)
A "Project Team Member Report" needs to be written after each drilling period for
geologists not assigned to particular rigs or drilling crews. The forms need to be
prepared if a geologist is succumbed to a work assignment that is not related to
the Collom Project to assure costs are properly allocated. The "Work Permit" will
be maintained by the geologist at the drill site. All personnel that enter the work
area are required to sign in and out. The forms are then provided to Juan Garcia
(Project Manager).
Core Images
Directories to store images for each drill hole have been established in the
CCC_COLLOM project area on the Colowyo server. The images should be
• downloaded to the CCC_COLLOM \Geology \DrillHoleData \< drill hole> \images
directory, where <drill hole> is the current drill hole.
