• o Status: Complete. Each of the items listed in Appendix 1 of BR373 have
been rectified. The action taken on each item is located in Appendix 1
of this memorandum.
• CCC should ensure that the sampling protocol matches current mining
practice.
• Status: Complete. Discussions with mine planning and mine
production personnel were held when the sampling protocols were
prepared in July 2004. A minimum seam thickness of 1.5 feet was
determined to best apply to current planning and production scenarios.
The 1.5 feet sampling interval was documented in the field data protocol
at that time.
• Geological Model:
• Visualisation of seam surfaces indicate that a drill hole intersection is not
necessarily honoured.
• The surface interpolator was changed from FEM to Height which
provided better data point honouring. The deviation of grid values from
drill hole data is now less than 1 foot. A reduction in grid cell size from
• 100 -feet to 50 -feet might yield even less deviation. However, this is not
recommended due to a four -fold time increase on any processing
performed on the model.
• Improve burn line definition using rotary drilling (+ a -log and magnetics ?)
• Status: In Progress. Much of the planned 2005 exploration focuses on
drilling along the perimeter of Collom. Other "cropline" drilling is also
planned for the West Pit, East Taylor Gulch, Lower Wilson and the north
end of Little Collom Gulch.
o A magnetic survey was performed in 1997 in the South Taylor area. The
results of the study tended to be inconclusive and unreliable. The CCC
consulting geologists believe that burn occurring in multiple seams at
multiple depths severely limit the value of geophysical methods for
burn identification.
o TS recommends that CCC review use of grid smoothing and trend surface in
MineScape.
■ If this investigation does not resolve the issue, CCC should contact
Mincom for an explanation /resolution of the issue.
o Status: Complete. The direct use of a trend surface was removed from
the geological model. Surface control in the area of the synclinal axis is
•
