Class III Inventory, Colowyo's Collom Mine Project 359 <br />0 <br />Landowner Private <br />Site Dimensions 223 x 164 ft <br />(• <br />Site Description Site 5MF4002 is located within the western portion ofthe Colowyo Collom Mine <br />project area and was originally recorded in July 1995 by MAC for Colowyo Coal Company's lease <br />and exploration areas. The site was described as a likely homestead residence located along the west <br />side of Collom Gulch at 7,000 ft (2,134 m). It was situated along the steep lower southeastern slopes <br />of a broad northeast - trending ridge that separates Straight Gulch and Collom Gulch (Figure 6.219). <br />Sediment was characterized as col luvial and slopewashed residuum consisting of light brown sandy <br />loam. On -site vegetation consisted of sagebrush, cheatgrass, and other grasses, with low Gambel <br />oak and grasses nearby. <br />The site consisted of four features and modest artifact assemblage.
