It was constructed of aspen
logs that were saddle- notched on the ends. The roof was collapsed, and the remaining log walls were
eight courses high. Milled lumber was used to frame the door and window. There was no chimney
or stovepipe. Artifacts were described as clear glass bottle andjar fragments, window glass, sanitary
cans, a few pieces of corrugated metal, a few wood and asphalt shingles, and a door hinge on the
door frame.
The current inventory found that the site has not changed significantly since 1995, but changes to
the topographic and legal descriptions were made. The site is on the southeastern slope of a
north - trending finger ridge instead of the southwestern slope, and the elevation of the site is 7,700 ft
(2,347 m), not 7,100 ft (2,164 m) (Figure 6.217). Bounding UTM coordinates at the site have been
adjusted to 254552 in E, 4459887 in N (NAD 83).
• Figure 6.217 Overview of Site 5MF4000, Looking South (Taken by Bob Shinkle, 8/18/05).
47599 TRC Mariah Associates Inc.
