Field observations within the northwest portion of the VLF included stripping
of all frozen and unsuitable materials and placement of structural fill using the method specification as
outlined in the Project Documents. Fill placement during the week was intermittent due to the LOB
Delivery Road work being the major activity.
SLF processing located in Dump 5 has not operated all week. A new plant is due to arrive sometime next
week.
The materials processing plant located in Arequa Process Area was not in production all week.
Work has continued on the 9775 bench widening for the relocation of the existing solution piping. This
work is advancing to the north and appears to be on or ahead of schedule.
Testing Summary
Laboratory testing continues (Gradations, Atterberg Limit, and Moisture-Density Relationships) for
previously sampled materials, throughout the shift. Permeability testing continues at an off-site
laboratory.
Two samples of Granular Filter Material have been completed (GFM-3 & 4) and based on test results are
failing to meet specifications.
