The canyon wall where the rock fall occurred has been unstable in the past and it appears that <br />additional rock falls may occur. MCM should continue to monitor this location and inform the DRMS if any <br />additional significant rock falls or other damage occurs. It may be necessary to develop a remedial plan to <br />stabilize the small section of canyon wall that appears to be unstable in the vicinity of the diversion culvert above <br />the exhaust fan. <br />The shop area collection ditch that runs behind the warehouse was in very good condition and clear of sediment <br />and debris. All other drainage structures and diversion culverts in the portal area were clear of debris and <br />appeared to be functional. The mine was not discharging water during the inspection. The catchment basins foi <br />both of the large diversions at the upper end of the portals area were dry. <br />The sediment pond was containing muddy water at approximately one to two feet below the level of the principal <br />spillway (Photograph No. 2). The silt fence at the mine entrance and the silt fence at the entrance to the road <br />accessing the subsoil and topsoil pile locations were properly keyed in and functioning properly. Site sediment <br />control features appeared to be in good working order throughout the mine site. <br />PROCESSING WASTE /COAL MINE WASTE PILES — Rule 4.10 and 4.11 <br />CDrainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement: <br />The temporary coal waste pile area was inspected and found to be properly maintained. The clean water diversion <br />ditch around the waste pile and sediment storage area is in good condition and clear of sediment. The berm <br />around the waste pile is well maintained. <br />ROADS — Rule 4.03 <br />❑Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3) <br />❑Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4) <br />t7 Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6) <br />El Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br />Roads were maintained and in good condition throughout the site. Ditches had recently been cleaned out and were <br />in good condition. Culverts were clear of sediment and debris and functioning properly. Coal was being hauled <br />from the site at the time of the inspection. A loader was active at the upper end of the haul road stacking the coal <br />in preparation for loading and hauling. <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04: <br />The shop and facilities areas and office area were well kept.
