The pond embankment appeared <br /> to be stable and no erosional problems were noted. <br /> Ponds 9-P7 and 9-P8 (by the old B&S Building)were both dry at the time of the inspection. The pond <br /> embankments appeared to be stable and no erosional problems were noted. <br /> -BTUEC was working on cleaning out a plugged culvert along the haul road just east of the underpass for <br /> Colorado Highway 13. <br /> PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES—Rule 4.10 and 4.11 Drainage Control; Surface <br /> Stabilization; Placement: <br /> -The reclaimed refuse pile area was covered with snow but appeared to be stable at the time of the inspection. <br /> This area is a very flat area so there should not be much runoff from the area. The reclaimed solid waste area was <br /> also covered with snow but appears to remain stable. This area is also very flat. BTUEC has dozed an additional <br /> small slot(approximately 12 feet wide x 10 feet deep x 25 feet long)in the approved solid waste disposal area. <br /> They are currently using this slot for additional disposal. <br /> ROADS—Rule 4.03 Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3)Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4) Surfacing and <br /> Maintenance4.03.1(5)and(6)/4.03.2(5)and(6)Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br /> -The mine access and haul roads on both sides of Colorado Highway 13 were plowed(as required by MSHA). <br /> The haul roads were covered with packed snow but appeared to be stable at the time of the inspection. <br /> Support Facilities—Rule 4.12: <br /> -BTUEC is still removing waste chemicals and empty barrels from the Mine#5A portal location. <br /> NOTE: There are several tamarisk trees on the north side of the mine entrance/haul road just east of the <br /> underpass for Colorado Highway 13.
