DRAFT PUBLIC NOTICE
<br />Sage Creek Coal Company (SCCC), 29515 Routt County Road 27, Oak Creek, Colorado
<br />80467, has submitted an application for Technical Revision (TR) of the Peabody Sage
<br />Creek Mine, Permit, Permit Number C-2009-087. The revision (TR01-10) addresses
<br />modifications to the coal handling facilities plan and layout.
<br />The proposed mine permit area, encompassing approximately 10,164 acres, is located
<br />approximately nine miles south of the Town of Hayden, Colorado, off Routt County Road
<br />27. The mine permit area is covered by the Milner, Mount Harris, Rattlesnake Butte, and
<br />Dunckley USGS 7.5 minute quadrangle maps. The general legal description for lands
<br />affected by the proposed Mine Permit Application Package (PAP) are located in Township
<br />5 North, Range 87 West, all or portions of Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14,
<br />15, 16, 21, and 22; and Township 6 North, Range 87 West, all or portions of Sections 27,
<br />28, 29, 32, 33, 34, 35, and 36.
<br />The permit term is for five (5) years. Affects comprise only a small portion of the entire
<br />permit area. Surface and coal ownership within the proposed permit area include Sage
<br />Creek Holdings, LLC; the State of Colorado; and the U.S. Department of Interior (Bureau
<br />of Land Management). The ownership, precise location, and boundaries of lands within
<br />the permit area are identified in Section 2.03, and on Map 2.03-M1, of the PAP, and are
<br />included in this public notice by reference.
<br />Copies of the PAP, including the referenced Technical Revision application, (less
<br />confidential material) are available for inspection at the mine office and the office of the
<br />Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety. A copy of the Technical Revision
<br />application is also available for public inspection at the:

<br />Written comments or objections to the Technical Revision application should be submitted
