(9) Placement of inert structural fill imported from off-site:
At this time the Operator only intends to import inert fill from
its Hogue River Pit. If such material is imported from other locations, the
Operator will comply with the provision of Section 3.1.5(9) of the
Division's and Mined Land Reclamation Board's regulation.
(10) All mined material to be disposed of within the affected area must
be handled in such a manner so as to prevent any unauthorized
release of pollutants to the surface drainage system:
All mined material will be handled in such a manner so as to prevent any
unauthorized release of pollutants to the surface drainage system. All
stockpiled material will be located and managed so as to avoid any
uncontrolled runoff. All storm water runoff from the site will be in
accordance with its Stormwater Management Plan. (A Stormwater Permit
is only required where an operation has the possibility of a discharge to
state waters from storm water that can come into contact with any
overburden, raw materials, intermediate products, finished products, by
products or waste products located at the site of such operations.) The
Operator intends to operate the site such that storm water will either be
prevented from contacting the above listed items; or where it does come
into contact with any of the above listed items, it will not be discharged
from the site. Regardless, the Operator holds a Stormwater Discharge
Permit for the Operation. In addition, the existing Stormwater
Management Plan will be revised as needed.
(11) No unauthorized release of pollutants to ground water shall occur
from any materials mined, handled or disposed of within the permit
area:
No ground water pollutants shall be released from the site. Fuel storage,
sufficient for on-site operations, occurs off site at the Operators main
Office several miles east of the Operation. A fuel truck will be brought
on-site for equipment fuel and lubrication as needed. The operator has a
Spill Prevention, Containment and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plan in
place.
E-1
17
