to the storm water containment pond and used by the landowner for irrigation. The
landowner has sufficient water rights to cover evaporative loss from the pond and
application of the storm water for irrigation (Please see Exhibit G).
(d) The size of the area(s) to be worked at any one time:
The size of the area to be excavated at any one time is shown on the Mine Plan Map,
attached. The expansion area will be mined using a cut and backfill method. Each cut
will be approximately 150 feet wide and from 800 feet to 1,100 feet long. It is
anticipated the proposed expansion will require 5 to 6 cuts. Each cut will be backfilled
with overburden from the previous cut and, if necessary, mine waste from the Hogue
River Pit. Approximately one to three acres per year will be mined through the life of the
expansion area.
(e) An approximate timetable to describe the mining operation:
This is a short term mining operation. The estimated cubic yards of minable sand and
gravel is 312,500 bcyds. Total excavation (including overburden) is estimated at 625,000
bcyds. It is estimated mining will occur at an average rate of 62,500 to 125,000 bcyds of
total excavation per year. The estimated life of proposed expansion is 6-12 years, if the
anticipated sale of product is met.
(i) An estimate of the periods of time which will be required for the
various phases:
The expansion area will be a cut and fill operation. Each cut is expected to
take approximately one year. All cut production periods are dependent on market
conditions. Therefore, it may take several years to complete a cut.
Reclamation, once mining is complete in a cut, is expected to take less than 6 to
12 months. The remaining areas to be reclaimed will be topsoil stockpiles, and
the topsoil stockpile access roads. There will be no overburden stockpiles or
processing facilities on the mine site.
(ii) A description of the size and location of each area to be worked
during each phase:
Mining will occur in a sequence of 5 to 6 cuts. Each cut will be approximately
150 feet wide and 800 feet to 1,100 feet long. A cut will vary from 2.75 acres to
3.4 acres in size.
U
10
