November 29, 2010 C-1981-035/King Coal Mine MLT
• At King I, a steel shed located on the upper bench is to be salvaged (possibly relocated)for the
landowner's use. The building had been previously used by the mine to store equipment and
materials. Those materials, including spools of electrical cable/conduit and a few steel drums, had
been removed from the building and were being temporarily stockpiled near the western edge of the
permit boundary(Photo 6). Most of the drums were empty;those that were not had been placed on
pallets which provided secondary containment. Mr. Jarvis indicated that the drums would soon be
removed from the site.
SIGNS AND MARKERS —Rule 4.02:
• Around the perimeter of the coal refuse pile located at King 1, a series of Permit Boundary signs had
been recently installed, making the boundary readily identifiable (Photo 7). In addition, the topsoil
pile at the upper end of the refuse pile had been marked with an identification sign (Photo 8).
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 3
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2 Page 3 of 8
