0 ameo
A network of 4-inch Tertiary HVSCS pipes were installed at approximately 100 feet
on-center at a minimum 2 percent grade, draining to the larger secondary PCPE HVSCS
pipes. Four-inch Tertiary HVSCS pipe sections were connected to each other using
couplings, and were attached to the secondary HVSCS pipe using ties. Laborers haunched
pipes with DCF and kept pipes in place during DCF placement.
2.12 Select Drain Cover Fill
Ames began and completed placing SDCF in the Phase 5 PSSA in October 2010. Ames
processed SDCF during the months of July 2010 and August 2010. Ames processed the
borrow material through a crusher mill and screening plant and temporarily stockpiled the
SDCF material at their crusher yard for haulage. Ames placed approximately 782 cubic yards
of SDCF in the PSSA. SDCF was placed around the vertical risers, 3 feet beyond the lateral
extent. Ames placed SDCF in a horizontal lift within the PSSA sump.
2.13 Drain Cover Fill
4)
Ames began placing DCF in the 2010 Phase 5 VLF in July 2010 and completed placement
in November 2010. Ames processed DCF from July 2010 through November 2010 by
screening crushed Cresson Ore over a vibrating one and one-half inch screen to remove
oversize material from the borrow source. Ames placed approximately 134,701 cubic yards
of DCF in the 2010 Phase 5 VLF. DCF was placed in a minimum 2-foot thick lift over the
geomembrane and in a 5-foot thick lift where Caterpillar 735 and 740 haul trucks traveled
over the geomembrane. During fill placement, PVC grade markers were placed at grade
breaks and on a maximum 50-foot by 50-foot grid. After DCF placement, PVC grade markers
were removed, and Ames performed any additional grading required. Ames placed DCF in an
uphill direction on any slopes steeper than 4H:1 V.
40
AMEC Earth & Environmental, Inc.
2000 S.
