• ameo
AMEC monitored construction of the Primary Underdrain (PU) and
Secondary Underdrain (SU), including verification that Ames excavated
trenches to minimum required dimensions and grades, and placed
materials as specified. AMEC performed CQA laboratory testing of grain
size, Atterberg limits, and moisture content of the Underdrain Fill (UF) and
SSF placed in the Underdrains.
AMEC monitored topsoil stripping, site grading, including slope
re-contouring and fill placement, lift thickness, moisture conditioning,
temperatures, compactive effort, in-place nuclear density testing, and use
of suitable material for SF. AMEC performed CQA laboratory testing of
grain size and Atterberg limits.
• AMEC visually monitored subgrade preparation to confirm that the
subgrade surface was unyielding, free of organic matter and other
unsuitable materials, and that the subgrade surface was compacted prior
to Soil Liner Fill (SLF) placement.
AMEC visually monitored the placement and compaction of SLF including
observation of depth verification performed by Ames, particle size,
moisture conditioning, and compaction of the fill. AMEC performed
in-place nuclear moisture density testing, and performed CQA laboratory
testing of grain size, moisture content, Atterberg limits, Proctor, and
permeability. AMEC also provided visual monitoring of the SLF surface
preparation and moisture conditioning for geomembrane deployment,
including verification that the surface was proof-rolled, compacted, and
hand-worked so as to be free of desiccation cracks, abrupt grade
changes, and sharp stones or objects. AMEC also observed the
excavation, backfill, and compaction of the anchor trenches.
AMEC visually monitored the placement of Low Volume Solution
Collection Fill (LVSCF) in between the primary and secondary
geomembrane in the PSSA, including verification of lift thickness, grade
control, identification and removal of deleterious materials, and
verification that care was exercised in fill placement to avoid
geomembrane damage. AMEC performed in-place nuclear
moisture-density testing of LVSCF areas within the PSSA sump, which
serves as the foundation for the primary geomembrane liner and High
Volume Solution Collection System (HVSCS) risers. AMEC performed
CQA laboratory testing of grain size, Atterberg limits, Proctor, and in-
place nuclear moisture density testing.
AMEC visually monitored the installation of Low Volume Solution
Collection System (LVSCS) piping, including the Low Volume Solution
Collection risers (LVSCR). AMEC visually verified that pipes were
installed to the lines and grades shown on the plans.
•
AMEC Earth & Environmental, Inc.
2000 S.
