Colowyo SL4 3 October 29, 2010
The 2007 sample data from BRB 79-95 exceeds 90% of the herbaceous cover in the acreage weighted value for
the mountain shrub and sagebrush reference areas. BRB 79-95 is successful for herbaceous cover for 2007 (15`
year sampling).
Productivity: BRB79-95: Herbaceous production: 839.4 Ibs/acre
Acreage weighted reference area: 612.7 Ibs/acre
The 2007 sample data from BRB 79-95 exceeds 90% of the herbaceous production in the acreage weighted
value for the mountain shrub and sagebrush reference areas. BRB 79-95 is successful for productivity for
2007 (1" year sampling).
Diversity: Seven perennial grass species were encountered during the 2007 sampling for BRB 79-95. Two species of
perennial forbs contributed between 1% to 50% relative cover. This exceeds the requirement for a
minimum of at least two cool season grasses with between 3% and 50% relative cover, and all forbs
combined with between 1% and 50% relative cover. BRB 79-95 exceeded the reclamation success
diversity standard for 2007.
Bond Release Block 79-95 Year 2 (2008 Sampling):
Cover: BRB79-95: herbaceous cover = 66.5 %
Acreage weighted reference area: Herbaceous cover =45.9%
The 2008 sample data from BRB 79-95 exceeds 90% of the herbaceous cover in the acreage weighted value for
the mountain shrub and sagebrush reference areas. BRB 79-95 is successful
for productivity for 2008 (2nd year sampling).
Diversity: Seven perennial grass species met the diversity requirement for the 2008 sampling for BRB 79-95. Two
species of perennial forbs contributed between 1% to 50% relative cover. This exceeds the requirement
for a minimum of at least two cool season grasses with between 3% and 50% relative cover, and all forbs
combined with between 1% and 50% relative cover. BRB 79-95 exceeded the reclamation success
diversity standard for 2008.
Conclusion: Until the adequacy concerns are addressed; I cannot state that the operator has achieved Phase III
reclamation success on Bond Release Block 79-95 for cover, production and species diversity.
