The Carbon Junction Mine permit area contains <br />a total of 192.770 acres more or less. <br />The surface owners of the property are Oakridge Energy, Inc. and William D Ewing Jr, <br />and First Interstate Bank of Denver. The U.S.G.S. 7.5 minute quadrangles titled "Durango <br />East" and "Loma Linda" contain the permit area of the mine. The mine site is located two <br />miles southeast of the Durango city limits, midway up Carbon Junction Canyon, on <br />Ewing Mesa. This is approximately one mile east of the Highway 160-550 business route <br />junction, lying one mile east of the Animas River.
