Colorado Rose Red, Inc. <br />Construction Materials <br />Limited Impact Operations <br />Reclamation Permit Amendment <br />Exhibit A- Legal Description <br />1) Colorado Rose Red, Inc. Quarry is located in non-incorporated Larimer County in <br />Section 33, Township 4 North, Range 71 West at 148 Cheyenne Ct, Lyons, CO <br />80540_ <br />Exhibit B- Site Description <br />a) Soil Characteristics and Vegetation: All land is solid granite. There has never <br />been any vegetation. <br />b) Permanent Man-made Structures within 200 feet and Owner: None. Landowner of <br />surrounding land is also company and operation owner. <br />c) Description of water sources: There are no water sources on the affected area. All <br />water used for operation is trucked in from the Town of Estes Park. <br />Exhibit C- Mining Plan <br />a) Estimated Dates Mining will Commence and End: Mining began April 1, 1947 <br />and will continue for at least another 200 years as long as the family business is <br />passed on. <br />b) Estimated Depth to which Soil will be Salvaged: There is no soil to be salvaged. <br />The affected area is solid granite (see letter from engineer). <br />c) Thickness of Overburden or Quantity of Waste Rock: There is little to no waste <br />rock due to the Water JET (see letter from engineer). It is estimated maybe a I% <br />of what is quarried is skinned off as waste rock. <br />d) Thickness of Deposit to be Mined: The thickness of the deposit is approximately <br />%s of a mile. The affected area is solid granite. <br />e) Major Components of Operation: There is one road approximately 3/4 of a mile <br />from Hwy 36 to the office to the quarry/affected area of operation which is 15 feet <br />wide. The office is located at the base of the mountain off site of the affected area. <br />Processing and maintenance take place within rooms which have been reclaimed. <br />(solid granite rooms). <br />f) Dimensions of Disturbances: Spill area 50 feet wide by 300 feet long <br />g) Dimensions of Roads and Description of Improvements: The access road to the <br />quarry is 3/4 of a mile long and 15 feet wide. Current improvements that take place <br />are grading the road after a heavy rain or snow using gravel and rock grade. <br />h) Water Usage and Source: Water is brought in from the Town of Estes Park which <br />is used to run all the operations. The quarry currently uses approximately 1500 <br />gallons per day. <br />i) No groundwater will be encountered or surface water intercepted or disturbed. <br />The affected area is solid granite. <br />j) Compliance with Colorado Water Laws: There is little to no waste water as it <br />either evaporates too quickly or it is reused to run other machines. <br />k) No refuse/acid or toxic producing materials will be or are used or exposed during <br />mining.
