6.4.7 Exhibit "G" Water Information.
1. Under the exhibit, the operator states" If ground water is encountered, the Division will be notified and
mining operations will be adjusted accordingly. The operation might affect surface water during high
precipitation. Please refer to Exhibit "C" mining map and Exhibit "F" reclamation map for information
and locations and details of earthen berms and surface water drainage". The Division cannot find the
information mentioned in your narrative in both Exhibits. Please provide details of these structures, as
mentioned in your narrative.
2. However, there are what appeared to be two ephemeral channels that feed what appeared to be two
stock ponds in the mining and reclamation plan maps. Both these ponds have the potential to be
impacted by the proposed mining activity. The stock pond located along the south western side (in the
area labeled as mining area buffer zone) appeared to be outside of the proposed permit area. However
the drainage channel feeding this pond is going to be impacted by the proposed mining activity. Please
explain how you plan to mitigate impacts to these ponds and the drainage channels.
6.4.19 Exhibit "S" Permanent Man Made Structures.
1. Under this exhibit the operator states, the only manmade structures in the proposed affected area is
a range ranch fence. Where is the location of these fences? If they are going to be within 200 feet of
the proposed mining permit area, the operator will need to submit a notarized agreement with the
owner of the property or provide an engineering report that will demonstrate the proposed activity
will not impact these fences.
All other exhibits were found to be adequate. Once the requested high wall information is submitted, the Division
will calculate the required reclamation warranty. if you have questions or concerns, please contact me at 303 866
3567 ext 8129.
Sincerely,
Berhan Keffelew
Environmental Protection Specialist
