May Day and Idaho Mine Complex 112 (d) Permit Application Upon completion of the underground mill structure at May Day No. 1, the area above the mill and the two portals will be back-filled, compacted to specifications and revegetated (seeded, and planted as appropri- ate). Bare areas surrounding the operational facilities (both active and inactive) that will not be utilized within a year will be appropriately graded to slope, or decompacted by ripping if final grade cannot be achieved until final reclamation, and revegetated. Rock storage areas that are complete and will not re- ceived additional run of mine rock will be graded as appropriate and revegetated. Development of the augmentation pond at the Idaho Operational Area will include interim reclamation of the slopes which will be graded as specified in Exhibit 6.5 - Geotechnical Stability and interim revegeta- tion of these slopes. CDPHE Mandated Stream Restoration of Little Deadwood Gulch Mine rock material within Little Deadwood Gulch at May Day No. 2 and Chief Operational Areas will be removed per Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) requirements as detailed in Exhibit 6.5 - Geotechnical Stability. Final grading will blend with the surrounding landscape and dis- turbed areas will be revegetated as defined in Section 6.4.5(2)(d) and (f) below. 'Failings Storage The storage of mill tailings will be undertaken in the May Day No. 1 underground workings in accor- dance with the Environmental Protection Plan (Exhibit T - Designated Mining Operation). Reclamation Effort 2: Exploration Exploration roads and drill pads will be developed in a sequential order, with only one in development at any given time. During development of these components, vegetative material removed from the explora- tion road corridor and drill pad areas will be moved to the May Day No. 2 portal rock storage/staging area, shipped offsite to an approved landfill, burned or used as mulch. Upon abandonment, all solid waste debris from the formerly active exploration drill pad will be disposed of off-site. The pad site will then be ripped to loosen the surface and revegetated. The exploration roads will be permanent and not require reclamation. Reclamation Effort 3: Closure and Final Reclamation Wildcat will remove, recycle or dispose of liquids and wood from the site in accordance with applicable waste management regulations. To the extent possible, steel sets, process equipment, generators, wire etc will be salvaged. Materials not considered toxic or hazard producing will be dismantled, and cut for dis- posal underground. The solid waste will be placed in the mine rock storage stope. Portals will be appropriately backfilled with crushed rock, sloped and closed in accordance with DRMS requirements. The portals will be barricaded or collapsed. Mine rock will be backfilled on benches such that the mine portal is buried under 5 feet or more of cover and graded with slopes equal to or less than 1.5(H):l(V). (Figure E-1) With the exception of the bench out slopes and the portal face (1.5H to 1V), slopes will be reclaimed to 2(H):1 (V) or to slopes no steeper than the existing topography where the natural slopes are estimated to be 1(H) to 1(V). Where possible, slopes will be graded to approximate original contour. The post mine topography and reclamation will blend in with the existing topography and vegetation.
