Maps
Are maps adequate regarding the following:
(a) Presented at the scale specified in 6.2.1(2)?
In their submittal of July 8, 2002, GCC Rio Grande, Inc. submitted new maps
in response to the Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG) adequacy
comments. These maps are presented at the scale specified in 6.2.1(2), and are
adequate to represent the areas to be affected.
(b) Include adjacent landowners as required in 6.4.3(a)?
The applicant has shown the landowners on separate pages that are keyed
numerically to the maps. This allows all of the information required for each
landowner to be presented even if the portion of land is too small to contain the
information. This method of showing the adjacent landowners is sufficient to
comply with the requirements of 6.43(a).
(c) Delineate topsoil stockpile locations and development contours on the mining
plan map? (3.1.9(3))
The maps submitted with the applicant's reply to the DMG adequacy letter
identify locations of topsoil, subsoil and fill. For most of the project life, the
applicant plans to live handle the reclamation materials, stripping topsoil from
an area and placing it on another area that is ready for topsoil. The same
handling procedure applies to the subsoil and fill material. This plan is in
compliance with Rule 3.1.9(3).
(d) Provide vegetation detail, location of plant site and post mine topography on
reclamation plan map? (6.4.6(a))
The applicant has provided the vegetation detail in Exhibit J and Appendix G of
their submittal of July 8, 2002, the location of the plant site and post mine
topography on the reclamation plan map, Exhibits D-3 and F-1. These
submittals comply with the requirements of Rule 6.4.6(a).
Timing of mining and reclamation processes
2. Has the operator provided an approximate timetable to describe the mining
operation for the purpose of establishing the relationship between mining and
reclamation during the different phases of the operation? (Rules 6.4.4(e) and
6.4.5(e))
