Compliance With Mine Plan NA - Support Facilities Not On-site <br />NA -Other NA - Special Categories Of Mining <br />R - Processing Waste R -Topsoil <br />COMMENTS <br />AIR RESOURCE PROTECTION - Rule 4.17: <br />There were no problems with dust control at the recently reclaimed East Mine, nor at any of the other <br />mine site areas. There were no problems with road dust as well. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS - Rule 5.02.4(1): <br />All of the required records were located at the Bowie No. 2 Mine office and were up to date, as <br />documented on the attached records checklist. <br />BACKFILL and GRADING - Rule 4.14 ; Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1; Approximate Original <br />Contour 4.14.2; Highwall Elimination 4.14.1(2)(f); Steep Slopes 4.14.2, 4.27; Handling of Acid and Toxic <br />Materials 4.14.3; Stabilization of Rills and Gullies 4.14.6: <br />The backfilling and grading at the reclaimed East Mine and at the reclaimed run-of-mine stockpile area is <br />standing up well. There were no signs of slope instability with the reclaimed slopes. There were some rills on the <br />backfilled slopes but no gullying had been observed. The backfilled slopes had been graded rough so erosional <br />problems have been minimized. <br />The reclaimed slopes at the West Mine also have held up well. There were no indications of slumping or cracking <br />with the backfill. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 -1 -. Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, <br />4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water <br />Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage - Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; <br />Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />At the East Mine, there was a little standing water in pond no. 3 but the other three bin wall ponds were <br />dry. Spillways appeared to be functional and the emergency spillways were clear of any debris. The bin walls <br />themselves appeared to be stable. Ditches on the reclaimed slopes were functional.
