No Mine personnel met me on site. The
Edna mine is a reclaimed surface mine that is under review for final (Phase III) bond release. The weather was
clear and dry but the region has received good rains earlier in the week. Damp areas were encountered
periodically throughout the mine.
AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS - Rule 5.02.4(1):
Mine records were inspected at the Routt County courthouse. Records were complete and updated with the
exception of filing a copy of the August 2010 vegetation sampling report with SL 11 file.
FISH and WILDLIFE - Rule 4.18:
Three bull elk were observed crossing the southern end of West ridge during the inspection. Two golden
eagles were noted hunting south of the office/warehouse area. While at the Center ridge pond, a flatbed pickup
with two people in hunter orange vests could be seen at the northwest portion of the mine. By the time the
inspector got to this area of the mine neither truck nor individuals were observed. A large herd (20-25 head) of
pronghorn antelope were noted grazing and watering part way down the String-of-pearls drainage.
Numerous waterfowl were present in both the West pit pond and the Moffat pond. Species recognized were
Common merganser and Pintail.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05
[]Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7,
4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring
4.05.13; Drainage - Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 2
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2
Page 2 of 6
