October 19, 2010 C-1981-019/Colowyo Coal Mine KAG <br />Temporary ditches are used to divert runoff from mostly spoil areas to the remaining portion of the East Pit. <br />These ditches are temporarily non-functional due to the equipment road that is currently in use for reclamation <br />purposes. Portions of these ditches were inspected where they exist. These ditches are designed as required since <br />the areas that they divert do not report to Prospect pond and diverted areas are essentially excluded in the pond <br />design storm runoff modeling. The ditch design calls for V-ditch construction with a depth of three feet.
