Williams and Betty Williams
Dear Mr. Hays:
Inadequacies will be address in the order they where outlined in your letter dated August 17,
2010 concerning the Application Package the items necessary for the Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety to deem the application complete. The following items of concern will be
addressed as a supplement to the original paper work submitted to the Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety as the permit application including all of the exhibits for File Number M-
2010-054. This will enable the technical review to begin.
6.3.1 EXHIBIT A- LEGAL DESCRIPTION AND LOCATION MAP
1. A new location map has been developed and is attached to this review package of
materials. The map is based upon the USGS CUCHARAS RESERVOIR
QUADRANGLE MAP. The map shows the mine access road enrty point off of
Huerfano County Road in Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) coordinates they are
539363 easting and 4167750 northing zone 13 WGS 84.
2. The new location shows the location of the proposed improved access road from
Huerfano County Road to the mine site where the excavation will take place. Timothy
D. Williams is the landowner of all of the surrounding property that the access road
bisects all the way to the new pit site. The maps scales have been modified for
appropriate scale in order to show the entire scope of the proposed project. The scale
change we believe should not pose a problem for the technical review.
6.3. EXHIBIT C - MINING PLAN
3. The existing depth of suitable soil that will be used for re-vegetation is only 7 to 14
inches deep, therefore the applicant proposes to replace approximately between 7 to 11
inches. Some of the salvaged material will be lost due to the process of mining and
other reasons that the applicant operator has no control over such has wind and water
erosion and processing beyond the ability of the to stop.
