September 30, 2010
'lRlIPM MINING INC.
Mr. Rob Zuber, PE
Environmental Protection Specialist
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety RECEIV W
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203 0,l 0 1 2010
Divistori of Reclamaton?
Dear Mr. Zuber: Wimg W)d &a#*
RE: Semi-annual Geotechnical Monitoring Report - September 2010
Trapper began submitting semi-annual monitoring reports to the Division, beginning in March
2008 with the last report sent on March 31, 2010. Trapper has been monitoring the 2006
landslide area for movement through the use of a continuous monitoring system, described in the
last report.
This report contains the following information:
In your letter acknowledging receipt of the March 2010 report, you requested clarification on
whether Station 2 or Station 3 is located outside the slide zone. The GPS stations described on
3-27a do not necessarily correspond to the description of monitoring Stations on the top of page
3-27aa. The term "GPS station" is meant to describe the actual GPS equipment, concrete
mounting pad, and steel mounting post. The Station designations, i.e. Station 2, are meant to
describe a monitoring location consisting of a borehole with installed sensors that may or may
not include an associated GPS station.
The text on 3-27a, 3-27aa, and Figure 3.3.3-1 describe the initial Station configuration and
location, and are correct. Page 3-27aa also states that, "Stations may be added or deleted as
mining progresses through the slide area." The configuration of monitoring Stations will evolve
as mining progresses. A drawing depicting locations of active Stations is included in this report.
You also requested a description of the new inclinometer installations and the significance of the
two separate readings. The raw data is in degrees of tilt, as seen in the previous report. The
current plot has been changed to show inches of displacement in the x and y directions. The first
series is the x displacement, and the second is the y displacement; these are denoted on the
included plots.
Your third comment requested that Trapper review the data for the LM sensor at Station 4 and
determine if the zero reading is an accurate depiction of conditions at that location. The labeling
on the piezometers was inadvertently switched on these instruments. That has been corrected on
the included plot.
P.O. Box 187 Craig, Colorado 81626 (970) 824-4401
