(Haley & Aldrich) was retained by Aggregate Industries, West Central <br />Region, Inc. (Aggregate Industries) to perform an engineering evaluation on the subject <br />property as requested in a memo from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) <br />dated 13 October 2000. The request was in regards to the Agreement to Mine within 200 feet <br />of Permanent Man-Made Structures. The Right of Way (ROW) for Colorado Highway (SH) <br />263 lies within 200 ft north of the proposed mining limits. The results of our evaluation are <br />presented in this letter report. <br />In completing this evaluation, we have performed the following: <br />1. Researched the subsurface conditions of the northern side of the proposed mining limits. <br />2. Constructed typical cross sections of the pit at the nearest point to the ROW during mine <br />operation and after reclamation. <br />3. Performed slope stability calculations based on anticipated conditions during and after <br />mining activities. <br />In performing this work, we have reviewed and/or relied on the following documents. <br />1.
