May Day and Idaho Mine Complex 112 (d) Permit Application
•
•
No irrigation for reclamation activities is planned.
6.4.7(4) Projected Water Sources
Wildcat Mining Corporation has two water rights as documented in Attachment G -1 and G -2.
The 1904 senior water right, acquired through the lease with Fairfield Land Company,
(Attachment G -1, Case No. 80CW133) allocates groundwater at a consumptive use rate of 0.22
cfs (100 gpm) for the purposes of mining, milling and industrial activities. The second water
right was filed on November 30, 2006 (Case No. 06CW91) and authorizes the conditional use of
1 cfs (capped at 12 acre feet per year) for mining, milling and industrial purposes. The source of
water is the Idaho Adit near Idaho Portal No. 1.
6.4.7(5) Discharge Permit
The Colorado Department of Public Health and the Environment (CDPHE) issued a CDPS
General Permit for Stormwater Discharges associated with Metal Mining to Wildcat Mining
Corporation, Permit No. COR- 04000, Facility No. COR- 040222, on October 17, 2006. Wildcat
Mining Corporation is in the process of revising this permit to reflect the mining activities
contemplated by this Section 112(d) mining permit application. Wildcat Mining Corporation has
also applied for coverage under a CDPS Industrial Individual Wastewater Discharge Permit for
the May Day Idaho Mine Complex, and prior to earth disturbing activity associated with the
mining activities contemplated by this permit application, Wildcat Mining Corporation will also
apply for coverage under the CDPS General Permit for Stormwater Discharges Associated with
Construction Activity.
May Day Idaho Mine Complex 112(d) Permit Application
September 21, 2010
