Detailed
surface water flow characteristics for the 2, 10, 25 and 100 year storm peak flows and discharge
flow velocities for the mine site and associated structures are presented in the Storm Water
Management Plan (SWMP) as summarized in Attachment T -4.
6.4.7(3) Projected Water Requirements
The following activities associated with the mining operations on site include:
• Mining and Milling
• Dust Control
Mining and Milling: The estimated project requirements for milling are 1 ton of water for every
ton of ore milled during milling. This equates to a flow rate of 40 gpm, with 30 gpm planned to
be recovered through recycling, leaving a total of 10 gpm for milling. The total estimated annual
volume of water required for milling and mining activities is 2.80 acre feet per year.
Dust Control: The estimated volume of water included the consideration of a road length of ten
thousand two hundred (10, 200) feet. This equates to an estimated volume of 2.5 gallons per
. minute. The total annual volume of water estimated for dust control is 4.21 acre feet per year.
May Day Idaho Mine Complex 112(d) Permit Application
September 21, 2010
