4) Install access road to sediment sumps for cleaning. This access road required considerable <br />hammering of large marble blocks, which was performed by Erik Merrell, who was brought from the <br />parent company Polycor in Georgia, together with the track hoe and impact hammer equipment. <br />5) An existing sump, called the facilities sump, located near the north portal, was deemed valuable, and <br />was added to the plan. No hydrologic calculations are needed for this sump, since it is simply an added <br />sediment trap in the basin leading to Sump 5. It is located immediately outside the North Portal, and is <br />easily cleaned from the access road. <br />The pictures enclosed in Appendix A show many of the items outlined above. <br />All of these facilities were constructed according to the plans in the approved permit except Sump 1 <br />discharge arrangement was modified, as well as Sump 4 and the collection ditch leading to it. <br />Yule Quarry As Built Report 2010 2
