• An additional column was added to the Seed Mix #7 table to show broadcast seeding rates.
Alfalfa seed rate would be doubled for broadcast, but the companion crop would keep the same
rate as drill seeding.
Seed Mix #2 is the name of a seed mix located earlier in Section 2.05.4(2)(e). Therefore the Year
6 Annual Small Grain Temporary Crop Mix in the IC seeding discussion (subsection 5.3) has
been renamed "Annual Small Grain (ASG) Seed Mix" to eliminate confusion.
• Language has been altered in subsection 5.7.1 regarding Year 1 has been changed to the
following:
"In Spring, place topsoil and conduct topsoil preparation and seedbed preparation according to
Section 2.05.4 (2)(d). Green manure crop will be seeded with the variety and rate as stated in
subsection 5.3. The green manure crop may be harvested, or entirely tilled into the soil. Any
stubble remaining from harvesting will be tilled into the soil. Seed Mix #7 is then planted later
in Year 1. Provide irrigation water to establish the crop before winter."
Year 6 language has been altered to be more specific about seeding times:
"Disk the soil a depth of 24 inches, and plant ASG Seed Mix. This is an annual small grain crop.
Harvest the crop at the end of June. Soon after harvest, disk in the small grain stubble. August of
this year, plant Seed Mix #7 (using a high yield variety). Provide irrigation water to establish the
crop before winter."
• Subsection 5.7.2 has been modified to include language that: "Annual fertilization will be done
based on the results of fertility testing conducted in year 3, 5, &7.
• Subsections 6.1 & 6.2 has been modified to show that Quickguard (sterile triticale) will be used
as a companion crop with Seed Mix #8 and therefore seeded at the same time. The rate has been
set at 10 lbs. PLS /acre. The seeding time frame for Seed Mix #8 over the winter dormant season
has been changed to October 25 to April 15. Seed Mix #8 was also modified to include Ladak as
opposed to Spreador 2.
• Fertilization has been removed as a practice during the liability period for Dryland Pasture.
Fertilization as part of topsoil preparation will still occur.
• A fertilization plan subsection (4.6. 1) for the Reclaimed Irrigated Pasture area has been added.
Reclaimed Irrigated Pasture will now be fertilized with 601bs /acre nitrogen and 201bs /acre
phosphorus annually.
• Miscellaneous typos were correct as well.
Mans
• Maps 2.05.4 -4, 6, and 7 have all been updated as part of the preliminary review. The changes
made were to insure consistency with Tables 2.05.4(2)(d) -lA and 113.
