was clarified to spring prior to June 15. Use of oats or barley as a companion crop at 20#
PLS /acre was specified. Resolved.
b. The Division requested that NRCS letters and documents pertaining to revegetation be
removed from the body of the text, and placed in Attachment 2.05.4(2)(e) -11, and this
appears to have been done. Resolved.
c. The last paragraph of Subsection 4.4 on interseeding was removed per Division request,
as it duplicated information presented in Subsection 4.6. Amended narrative in the final
paragraph of Subsection 4.4 references broadcast seeding as an alternative method.
Please specify use of a spring tooth harrow or other appropriate method to cover the seed
after broadcast application. One concern remains with respect to the interseeding
discussion in Subsection 4.6; text incorrectly references an NRCS letter "on the following
page" to document interseeding as a normal husbandry practice. Please correct the
reference to refer to the appropriate NRCS letter "in Attachment 2.05.4(2)(e) -1 I ".
The language regarding a spring tooth harrow for seed cover has been added.
d. Subsection 4.5 discusses the Irrigated Pastureland Revegetation Success Criteria and
Success Demonstration.
i. Incorrect reference to "annual fertilization' was corrected. Resolved.
ii. Erroneous table reference was corrected. Resolved.
iii. An out of context and illogical sentence was properly moved and revised. Resolved.
iv. Summarized discussion of IP reference area in TR -58, approved in 2009, was provided as
requested. Resolved.
v. Subsection 4.5.1 heading was appropriately changed, and narrative in the first several
paragraphs preceding Table (e) -2 was properly amended. One additional revision is
warranted; please replace the reference to letter "included in this subsection' with
reference to the appropriate letter "included in Attachment 2.05.4(2)(e) -11 ".
vi. Appropriate changes were made to the paragraph immediately following Table (e )-2.
Resolved.
vii. Language addressing timeframe for bond release reference area sampling was amended
as requested. Resolved.
viii. Various revisions to Subsection 4.5.2 appear to have been made as requested.
Resolved.
ix. The Division requested a number of modifications to narrative in Subsection 4.6, to
clarify planned livestock grazing management of reclaimed IP areas during the liability
period. The requested narrative modifications were provided. We note, however, that
liability period irrigation management associated with reclaimed 1P areas is not
addressed, and Subsection 4.6 would be the appropriate place to include such discussion.
Please address irrigation scheduling . and management throughout the growing season, as
impacted by yearly variations in weather, ditch water turn-out date, single or multiple
annual cuttings, livestock grazing, etc. Also, please include a reference to the subsection
of 2.05.4(2)(d) that addresses liability period fertility management Finally, provide the
correct Attachment reference for the NRCS letter referred to at the end of Subsection 4.6.
